The fact that you can't sleep if there are enemies nearby doesn't help either. The problem with Cliff Racers is that they're extremely common and that without ranged weapons you have to wait agonisingly for them to descend before you can kill them. They are basically pteranodons that have an extremely long aggro range and slowly descend on the player to attempt to kill them.
Cliff Racers are an enemy in The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.
